Cardwell and Gubler Honored With First-Team All-Academic

Jack Cardwell and Necie Gubler capped off exceptional seasons for Westminster by earning First Team All-Academic honors from the RMAC, reinforcing the program's long-standing emphasis on excellence both on the pitch and in the classroom. For two players who already set the standard competitively, the academic recognition adds a meaningful layer to legacies built on consistency, maturity, and a clear understanding of what it means to represent the Griffins.

Cardwell, a senior forward, delivered one of the strongest seasons of his career. His goals, creativity in the final third, and leadership in key moments were central to Westminster's attack all year. Yet his influence never stopped with the final whistle. Cardwell carried the same discipline into his academic commitments, maintaining high performance across a demanding course load. His First Team All-Academic selection highlights a student-athlete who treats preparation as a full-time responsibility, modeling daily what the program expects from its veterans.

Necie Gubler's Westminster career was defined by steady growth, competitive maturity, and excellence on and off the pitch. After limited action in 2022, she broke out in 2023 with 3 goals and 4 assists before delivering a standout 2024 season with 6 goals, 2 assists, and First Team All-RMAC honors. A product of Olympus High School and top-level club programs, she paired her athletic rise with strong academic performance, earning RMAC First Team All-Academic recognition and finishing her career as a true example of the Griffin standard.

Together, Cardwell and Gubler embody the foundation of the Westminster student-athlete experience. The program prides itself on valuing academics first, and both seniors demonstrated that excellence in competition and excellence in the classroom are not competing priorities—they are the same expectation. Their achievements reinforce the culture the Griffins aim to uphold: one built on work ethic, accountability, and a commitment to growth on every front. As their collegiate careers conclude, Cardwell and Gubler leave behind more than impressive stat lines and postseason accolades. They leave blueprint for future Griffins—showing that success is at its most meaningful when it's earned in every area of life.
