Eligibility & Recruiting Questions

About Recruiting, Eligibility, Transferring & Westminster Athletics
If you are interested in participating in a particular NCAA or Non-NCAA sport, please complete the online questionnaire for the sport you are interested in or contact the head coach for that sport directly using our staff directory for those without a prospect questionnaire. This information will assist our coaches with the evaluation and recruitment process.

NCAA TRANSFER RULES: If you are a student-athlete enrolled at another four-year institution or if you have been enrolled at another four-year institution in the last year (NCAA Division I, II III or NAIA), NCAA rules prohibit us from having any communication with you, directly or indirectly, until we inform that institution you have made contact with our institution with the intent of possibly transferring.  Once we have informed your enrolled institution than the communication process is allowed. Permission-to-contact: If you are enrolled full time in a four-year school, athletics staff members from an NCAA school cannot contact you or your parents unless they first have a letter from your current athletics director (or athletics administrator designated by the athletics director). If your current school does not grant you written permission-to-contact, the new school cannot encourage you to transfer and — in Divisions I and II — cannot give you an athletics scholarship until you have attended the new school for one academic year. If you are transferring from a school that is not a member of the NCAA or NAIA, you do not need a permission-to-contact letter.

The Westminster athletics program consists of 17 NCAA II intercollegiate sports teams and compete as members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) with schools from Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, South Dakota and Utah. The exception is Alpine Skiing, which competes in the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA).  Men’s teams that compete in the RMAC include basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer and track & field. Women’s RMAC teams include basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, soccer, and volleyball.

Our athletics program also consists of one non-NCAA program men's and women's snowboard which you can view on this website under our Sports tab. These programs are not not subject to NCAA eligibility or rules requirements. All team members are required to be full-time enrolled students at the college. If you are interested in participating in a particular Non-NCAA sport please email or call the Head Coach of the sport you are interested in by visiting our staff directory for contact information.  To assist our coaches in their evaluation of you as an interested prospect, please include detailed information such as where you are from, your year in school, interest in Westminster, experience with the sport you are interested in and if you have applied to Westminster University and been accepted.
