Griffins Fall in Overtime Heartbreaker to UCCS in RMAC Quarterfinals

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Westminster women's soccer team saw its 2025 season come to a close on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 overtime loss to UCCS in the RMAC Tournament Quarterfinals at Mountain Lion Stadium.

The Griffins struck first in the 41st minute when Natalie Cardin scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Ashley Cardozo and Amber McIntosh, putting Westminster ahead 1-0. However, UCCS quickly responded just 50 seconds later as Taylynn Levi found the back of the net to tie the match 1-1 going into halftime.

Both teams traded chances through regulation, but the game remained deadlocked until the 106th minute of double overtime, when Abby Stassi netted the golden goal for UCCS, assisted again by Levi, to lift the Mountain Lions to a 2-1 victory.

Westminster finished the match with 12 total shots, including 3 on goal, while UCCS registered 18 shots, 6 on goal. The Griffins earned 4 corner kicks and committed 13 fouls, while UCCS recorded 10.
