SALT LAKE CITY — Westminster University Director of Athletics
Shelley Jarrard announced this week the appointment of Allie Lieshout as the program's new Head Women's Soccer Coach. Lieshout brings more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience at the Power Four level to Griffin Athletics, along with a professional playing career that spanned multiple countries and leagues.
"We are excited to welcome Allie Lieshout as our Head Women's Soccer Coach. Her proven success at the highest collegiate levels, deep roots in Utah's soccer community, and genuine commitment to developing and supporting young women both on and off the field make her the ideal leader to build a competitive, character-driven program that reflects Westminster University's mission. We look forward to the positive impact she will have on our student-athletes and campus community."

Lieshout arrives at Westminster after serving as an assistant coach at two Power Four programs. She spent three seasons (2021–2024) as first assistant at the University of Minnesota (Big Ten) under Head Coach Erin Chastain. During her time with the Gophers, Lieshout helped guide the program to its first Big Ten Tournament berth since 2018 in the 2022 season and contributed to the development of nine All-Big Ten honorees and two United Soccer Coaches All-Region selections.
Prior to Minnesota, Lieshout served as an assistant coach at her alma mater, the University of Utah (Pac-12), from April 2018 through 2021. She was part of a staff that helped return the program to the NCAA Tournament after two consecutive missed postseasons, coached three All-Pac-12 honorees and two All-Region selections, and contributed to a 2-0 victory over No. 14 USC in 2020.
Most recently, Lieshout has served as Assistant Coach for Utah United's USL W League team — which won the 2025 championship in its inaugural season — and as Director of the Girls 11v11 program at Utah Celtic FC, the state's top premier youth club. Those roles have kept her closely connected to elite pre-professional soccer and the Utah club recruiting landscape.
A four-year letter winner and three-time team captain at the University of Utah, Lieshout went on to a professional playing career from 2014 to 2018, competing in Europe (Belgium, Germany), in the NWSL with the Seattle Reign and the Orlando Pride, and in Japan with Konomiya Speranza. She attended the 2018 preseason camp with the Utah Royals before transitioning into coaching.
"I am very excited to be named head coach of Westminster's women's soccer program, and I'm incredibly thankful to athletics director
Shelley Jarrard for trusting me with this opportunity. Leading this program truly feels like a dream come true for my family and me. I'm looking forward to working with such a talented, and driven group."
