Box Score 2 GREELEY, Colo. – The third-ranked Westminster College men's lacrosse team picked up a pair of wins in Greeley, Colo. over the weekend. Westminster opened he trip with a 24-4 win over Northern Colorado on Friday before taking No. 5 North Dakota State16-5 on Saturday.
Westminster improves to 6-3 on the season with the two victories. They have now won four straight games after back-to-back losses last month.
Collin Madsen led the Griffins against Northern Colorado with six goals while adding one assist for seven points.
Jake Arthur finished with five goals with
Cole Christensen and
Elias Fairman scoring three goals apiece.
Kevin Gee recorded three assists and
Pat Hagan claimed a team-best six ground balls.
Erik Gronseth made six saves and allowed just one goal in cage for the Griffins.
Madsen came back on Saturday with three goals and three assists in the win against North Dakota State. His six points were a team-best and Fairman finished with four goals and one assists for five points. Arthur scored three goals in the win with
Brian Tyrrell also scoring three times. Gronseth made 10 saves to earn the win in cage.
Next up for the Griffins in the team's home opener on Saturday against Colorado Mesa. The first of seven straight games at Dumke Field will begin at 1 p.m.
