Game Breakdown

First Quarter

Concordia University Irvine jumped out to a fast start, scoring three unanswered goals to open the game. Jeremy Barnes got things going at 12:13, followed by two goals from Jack Lepore — including one assisted by Parker Teel at 4:22 — to push the lead to 3-0. Westminster got on the board with 1:17 remaining on a man-up goal from Luke Sillstrop, assisted by Ridge Crouch, but Lepore answered immediately to close the quarter with CUI leading 4-1.

Second Quarter

Concordia extended the advantage to 6-1 on goals from Erik Hollis and a fourth tally from Lepore. The Griffins responded with three unanswered goals — Carter Inazu at 7:15, Charlie Phelps at 2:31, and Luke Sillstrop at 0:48 — to cut the deficit to 6-4 heading into the half.

Third Quarter

Erik Hollis opened the third period with a goal to push CUI's lead back to 7-4, but Westminster's offense took over from there. The Griffins scored four consecutive goals — Harrison Edwards at 7:30, Pierce Dahl at 3:55, Kaydin Berry at 2:47, and Daxton Jensen at 2:11 — to flip the score and take an 8-7 lead entering the fourth.

Fourth Quarter

Ridge Crouch, assisted by Cam Conti, extended the Westminster lead to 9-7 just 51 seconds into the final frame. Lepore tallied twice in under two minutes to knot the game at 9-9 with 9:36 remaining. Sillstrop regained the lead for good at 6:34, again assisted by Conti, and Harrison Edwards added an insurance goal at 3:09 to seal the 11-9 victory.
