Meet Breakdown
The Westminster Griffins sent competitors across both the women's and men's programs to the 2026 RMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, held April 24–26 at Thunderbowl Stadium in Pueblo, Colorado. The women's program finished 13th in the team standings with six points, powered by a standout individual performance in the high jump and contributions from both relay squads.
Women's Events
Freshman Kanoe Haneberg led the way for the Griffins, earning five team points with a fourth-place finish in the women's high jump. Haneberg cleared 1.62m (5-03.75) to place among the top five competitors in the event.
Haneberg also competed in the 100 meter hurdles prelims, posting a time of 16.11 to finish 14th in the preliminary round.
In the 400 meter dash, freshman Laine Romney ran a 1:01.17 in the preliminary round, finishing 21st.
Sophomore Eileen O'Connor competed in the 800 meter run prelims, crossing in 2:20.67 for 13th place, while sophomore Angela Martin Rubin posted a 2:25.25 to finish 19th in the same event.
In the steeplechase, two Griffins took the track. Freshman Ashley Cottino finished 18th in the women's 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 12:44.00, followed by junior Haven Finley in 20th at 12:57.42.
Freshman Johanna Mapson was entered in the 100 meter dash prelims but did not start (DNS).
In the triple jump, freshmen Teyvia Sidberry and Bella Tocco both competed but fouled on all three attempts.
Relays
The women's 4x100 relay squad of Mia McKay, Laine Romney, Kanoe Haneberg, and Teyvia Sidberry finished eighth in 50.48, claiming one team point. The 4x400 relay team of Angela Martin Rubin, Laine Romney, Mia McKay, and Eileen O'Connor finished 10th with a time of 4:05.44.
Heptathlon
Westminster placed two athletes in the women's heptathlon. Sophomore Mia McKay finished 10th overall with 4,034 points, competing across all seven events: 100m hurdles (15.25), high jump (1.43m), shot put (8.41m), 200m dash (26.90), long jump (4.77m), javelin (22.07m), and 800m run (2:28.66). Freshman Teyvia Sidberry finished 13th with 3,533 points, posting marks of 16.59 in the 100m hurdles, 1.43m in the high jump, 8.65m in the shot put, 28.26 in the 200m dash, 4.61m in the long jump, 24.00m in the javelin, and 2:48.96 in the 800m.
Men's Events
On the men's side, freshman Dario Garcia Sanchez competed in both the 100 meter dash (10.85, 19th in prelims) and the 200 meter dash (22.19, 19th in prelims). Freshman Jeremy Alba also ran the 100 meter dash prelims, finishing 24th with a 10.91.
Sophomore Sebastian Moon competed in the 400 meter hurdles prelims, posting a 57.38 for 15th place.
In the javelin throw, freshman Samuel Clemments recorded a best mark of 44.87m to finish 17th, while freshman Elliot Payne threw 29.44m for 23rd.
