Tournament Breakdown
Round 1
The Westminster women's golf team opened the Maverick Challenge on Saturday at Redlands Mesa GC in Grand Junction, Colorado. The Griffins posted a first-round team score of +37, sitting second in the four-team field after day one behind host Colorado Mesa (+36).
Round 2
Westminster came on strong in the second round Sunday, carding a +20 to close out the tournament. The Griffins finished with a two-round total of +57 to claim first place in the final regular season event before the RMAC Championships.Â
Griffin Performances
Ashley Lam led the Griffins with rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) for a two-round total of 151 (+7). Lam led the entire field in birdies with 10, ranked 1st in par 4 scoring (avg 4.15, +3), T5 in par 5 scoring (avg 5.25, +2), and T6 in par 3 scoring (avg 3.25, +2).
Remi Rawlings posted rounds of 79 (+7) and 74 (+2) for a 153 (+9) total. Rawlings ranked T2 in the field in par 3 scoring (avg 3.00, E), 3rd in par 4 scoring (avg 4.40, +8), 4th in par 5 scoring (avg 5.13, +1), and T3 in birdies with 5.
Lily Shin recorded rounds of 81 (+9) and 78 (+6) for a 159 (+15) total. Shin ranked T6 in par 3 scoring (avg 3.25, +2), T4 in par 4 scoring (avg 4.45, +9), and T3 in birdies with 5.
Reimi Bleyl posted rounds of 92 (+20) and 80 (+8) for a 172 (+28) total.
Jailee Snow posted rounds of 90 (+18) and 82 (+10) for a 172 (+28) total, recording 3 birdies on the weekend.
Campbell Kato rounded out the team lineup with rounds of 91 (+19) and 85 (+13) for a 176 (+32) total.
Madalyn Hadley competed as an individual, posting rounds of 75 (+3) and 85 (+13) for a 160 (+16) total, ranking T4 in par 4 scoring (avg 4.45, +9) and T3 in birdies with 5.
Isabel Wade competed as an individual, posting rounds of 82 (+10) and 86 (+14) for a 168 (+24) total.
Kindra Hirasuna competed as an individual, posting rounds of 90 (+18) and 80 (+8) for a 170 (+26) total.
