Tournament Breakdown
Round 1
The Westminster women's golf team competed in the first round of The Big Freeze on Monday at Richmond GC in Richmond, California. The Griffins posted a first-round team score of 315, sitting in fourth place in the 10-team field after day one.
Round 2
Westminster closed out the tournament Tuesday with a second-round score of 300, a 15-stroke improvement from the opening round. The Griffins finished with a two-round total of 615 to claim fourth place, behind tournament winner Point Loma (595), Dominican CA (606), and Westmont (612).
Griffin Performances
Ashley Lam paced the Griffins with a fifth-place individual finish, carding back-to-back rounds of 73 (+1) for a two-round total of 146 (+2). Lam tied for the most birdies in the field with 8, ranked 4th in par 4 scoring (avg 4.10, +2) and T3 in par 5 scoring (avg 4.50, -4).
Remi Rawlings finished T21, posting rounds of 80 (+8) and 75 (+3) for a 155 (+11) total. Rawlings ranked T5 in the field in par 3 scoring (avg 3.13, +1) and 3rd in total pars with 25.
Madalyn Hadley finished T24, recording rounds of 78 (+6) and 78 (+6) for a 156 (+12) total, finishing T5 in the field in total pars with 21.
Lily Shin finished T27, improving significantly in the second round with a 74 (+2) after an opening 84 (+12), finishing at 158 (+14). Shin finished T5 in the field in total pars with 21.
Reimi Bleyl rounded out the lineup in 50th, posting rounds of 84 (+12) and 88 (+16) for a 172 (+28) total.
Team Stats
Westminster ranked 2nd in the field in total pars with 98, trailing only Point Loma (102), and 4th in par 3 scoring with a team average of 3.42 (+17).
