Goodyear, AZ – The Westminster University Women's Golf team delivered an impressive performance at the SMSU Classic, claiming first place on the team leaderboard at Wigwam Golf Course to be crowned champions.

Two freshman led the way for the Griffins. Ashley Lam finished tied for third with a score of +17. Close behind was Madalyn Hadley, who tied for fifth, just one stroke back of Lam.
Kyra Sponenburgh, +19, secured a top-10 finish for Westminster, while Reimi Bleyl finished 18th. Isabel Wade and Kindra Hirasuna rounded out the Griffins' lineup, contributing to the team's first place performance.

Director of Golf Denise Larson noted, "It feels good to be back in the winners circle. Especially at Wigwam where we won the RMAC Championship in 2021. I loved how each member of our team fought through tough conditions on the back nine to hang on for the win."
