Westminster Picked Second in 2026-27 RMAC Women's Golf Preseason Poll

8/25/2026 12:26:00 PM

Colorado State University Pueblo has been picked to win the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship for a fifth consecutive season, the RMAC announced Tuesday in its 2026-27 Preseason Coaches' Poll. Westminster University was picked second, trailing the ThunderWolves by just two points, 76-74.

Westminster received four first-place votes, three second-place votes, and two third-place votes in the poll. The Griffins enter the season coming off a tie for second at the 2026 RMAC Championship, where they finished at 31-over-par 751 alongside Colorado Christian University.

Reigning RMAC Golfer of the Year Ashley Lam returns to lead Westminster after winning the individual RMAC championship in each of the past two seasons. Lam headlines the 2026-27 Preseason All-RMAC Team. Lily Shin joins Lam on the preseason team after placing 12th individually at last season's RMAC Championship — giving Westminster the second-most Preseason All-RMAC selections of any institution in the league.

CSU Pueblo enters the season as five-time defending RMAC champions after winning the 2026 title by six strokes. The ThunderWolves placed three golfers among the top five individually a season ago: Thale Victoria Estensen (4th), and Lisa Ekberg and Freya Constable (tied for 5th). Ekberg, Olivia Heard, and Yale Lee join the Preseason All-RMAC Team, giving CSU Pueblo a conference-leading three preseason honorees.

Colorado Christian checked in third in the poll with 63 points, followed by Colorado Mesa (60) and MSU Denver (41) to round out the top five. Chadron State earned the final third-place vote, bringing the Eagles to 37 points and a sixth-place ranking. South Dakota Mines and Fort Lewis are tied for seventh with 35 points apiece, with Black Hills State (18) and Adams State (11) rounding out the poll.

The Griffins season kicks off on September 13th at the Travis Roy Memorial Invitational.
