Spearfish, SD -Over the past weekend, both the men's and women's track and field teams participated in the RMAC Championships, showcasing stellar performances that highlighted the Griffins' talent and determination.
Katie Brotherson notably shattered a school record in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.64 meters, which earned her a remarkable 6th place finish and a spot on the Second Team All-Conference. Additionally,
Thomas Maxfield demonstrated his prowess by clinching 5th place in the 800 meters, securing another spot on the Second Team All-Conference.
The weekend was filled with notable achievements, including Brotherson's strong showing in the Pentathlon, where she secured 5th place, and Amanda Lee's commendable performance in the 500 meters, finishing in 7th place. In field events, Jackson Ames showcased his talent with a 15th place finish in the long jump, while Jude Porter also contributed with a solid 16th place in the same event.
On the second day of competition, Porter continued to impress with a 13th place finish in the high jump, while Sebastian Szweda Mittelstadt displayed his skills in the 800 meters, securing 7th place. Jackson Ames once again demonstrated his versatility, finishing 15th in the triple jump. Notably, the Griffins concluded the championship on a high note, finishing 8th in the 4x400 relay and setting a new school record.
