LAS VEGAS, Nev. –Westminster's Katelyn Cook from the Women's Golf was named the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference as Women's Golf Summit Award winners, respectively, the league announced Friday.
"In her chemistry program, Cook earns the RMAC Women's Golf Summit Award as a senior with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She closed the regular season with seven tournament appearances and a trio of finishes within the top 45 competitors. Cook claimed a season-high 20 pars in her season opener at home, the Westminster Wasatch Invite, where she registered a 45th-place finish. The senior has 121 pars and 13 birdies on the season with five of those birdies coming at the Dennis Rose Invitational."
Cook will now help to help the Westminster Griffins Women's Golf team at the 2023 RMAC Golf Championships, which are set to begin on Sunday, April 23, at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

The RMAC Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA that is also competing at the site of the finals for their respective sport's championship. Summit Award winners must have competed in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. Student-athletes must be active members of their teams, traveling and competing at the RMAC championship event. Graduate students are not eligible to win the award.
