Men's Soccer Announce Two More Signees

Goalkeeper Roark Looney will join the Griffins for the fall of 2021 and Cameron Neeley will join the fall 0f 2023.

Head Coach Josh Pittman is excited to announce the signing of midfielder Cameron Neeley and goalkeeper Roark Looney to the Westminster men's soccer program. Roark will join the Griffins in the fall of 2021 and Neeley will join in the fall of 2023.

Roark LooneyLooney, a six-foot three-inch goalkeeper from Boise, Idaho, attended Renaissance High School and played for Centennial High School. He is a two-time All-SIC (Southern Idaho Conference) First Team selection as well as an Idaho All-State First Team pick in 2020.

In addition to being a standout high school player, Looney played for the Boise Timbers 2003 and Idaho Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2014-2017 and again in 2019. He attended the ODP region camp three times.

"Roark is a huge pickup for us.  He has all the tools of being a top level GK in the RMAC and will make our group of GKs that much stronger here at Westminster." 

Cameron NeeleyNeeley, a five-foot nine-inch midfielder from Sandy, Utah, attended and played for Brighton High School. Neeley is the team captain for the Bengals and is a four-year letter winner. He helped guide his team to the 5A Utah High School Athletic Association (UHSAA) state title in 2019 and earned First Team All-Region honors. In 2018, Neeley was All-Region Honorable Mention.

Cameron has also been a member of the 2003 Utah ODP team from 2013-2019.  He serves as a team captain for his club program, Sparta United, and won the Utah Youth Soccer Association (UYSA) State Cup and the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships in the 2018-19 season.

Neeley is also a standout in the classroom.  He holds a 4.0 GPA and is in the Honors Program at Brighton High School.  Cameron will serve an LDS mission before joining the program in 2023.  His older brother, Brennan Neeley, returns from his mission for the fall 2021 campaign.

"Cam is a highly intelligent and experienced midfielder that will fit in well to our program.  He has a great engine and reads the game very well," Coach Pittman said. "We will be very excited to have him back in 2023!"
