POCATELLO, Idaho—The men's track team set nine personal best and six program top-10 times and marks this weekend at the ISU Bengals Invitational. The 10-team field was comprised of seven division I schools and three division II schools.
Zack Stanton and
Aiden Urban set records in the triple jump and 800 meters. Stanton's jump of 13.15 meters topped Joe Feichko's mark of 13.03 meters that has stood since 2012. Urban finished first in the 800 meters with a Westminster record setting time of 1:52.19.
DJ Matthews ran the fourth fastest 10,000 meters with a time of 33:34.65 and Max Mertz's triple jump of 11.75 meters is a personal record and ranks 10
th in the record book. The 4 x 400 relay team of
Tony Nickerson,
Thomas Maxfield, Urban and
Caz Woodall ran the program's second fastest time of 3:22.12.
Personal records were set by
Brock Lloyd in the 110-meter hurdles,
Andrew Ross,
Thomas Maxfield and
Caz Woodall in the 400 meters,
Mack Taylor in the 800 meters and
Riley McCarter in the 1,500 meters.
The Griffins will be competing at the Robison Invitational, hosted by BYU, from Wednesday through Saturday, Apr. 21-24.
