PROVO, Utah— Tony Nickerson finished first in the 800 meters as the Westminster men's track and field team set five top-10 times and marks and two personal records at the BYU Cougar Indoor #2.
Nickerson recorded his second first place finish having finished first in the mile last weekend at the BYU Cougar Indoor #1. Nickerson's first place time of 1:53.89 is the third fastest at Westminster. In addition, Nickerson set the 800 meters record last season and holds the eighth fastest time.
Brock Lloyd added two more top-10 times in the 60-meter hurdles. Lloyd posted a preliminary time of 9.31 and a final time of 9.20 for Westminster's eighth and ninth fastest time. Lloyd ran a personal best, and sixth fastest time, at the BYU Cougar Indoor #1 earlier this season.
Zach Stanton and Max Mertz jumped to the third and fifth longest long jump in program history. Stanton jumped 6.17 meters and Mertz jumped 5.81. Stanton holds five top-10 marks, including three top-five, and Mertz holds three top-10 marks.
Thomas Maxfield and Riley McCarter set personal records. Maxfield set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:55.49 and McCarter ran the 3,000 meters in 10:40.34.
The Griffins have set eight top-10 program times and marks, including one record, this season.
