Women's Soccer Welcomes Black Hills State, Colorado Christian to Dumke Field

Westminster women's soccer will host Black Hills State on Friday night beginning at 6:30 p.m., and Colorado Christian on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

SALT LAKE CITY - Westminster women's soccer (5-2-4, 2-2-3 RMAC) will host its final Friday/Sunday set of RMAC matchups this weekend as it takes on Black Hills State (3-7-1, 2-5-1 RMAC) on Friday night at 6:30 p.m., followed by Colorado Christian on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.  Westminster Griffins Club will host its final tailgate of the fall sports season beginning at 5 p.m., at the Kim T. Adamson Alumni House patio.  Friday's tailgate is open to the public and those interested in attending can RSVP for free online.

Match Info:
-  Friday's pregame tailgate will be held from 5-6:30 p.m. on the patio of the Kim T. Adamson Alumni House.
-  Tickets for all women's soccer home matches can be purchased at westminstergriffins.com/tickets
-  General admission into Dumke Field is $8. 
-  Current Westminster College students, faculty and staff are offered free admission into all WC home events but are required to present an active Westminster Identification Card to gain entry. 
-  All Westminster women's soccer home matches are available for FREE streaming on the RMAC Network.  Viewers can watch live online or download the RMAC Network app from all major video streaming app stores.

About the Griffins:
-  Westminster, ranked ninth in this week's USCA NCAA Division II South Central Region rankings, began last weekend with a 6-1 win on the road at Western Colo., before a scoreless draw at Fort Lewis to end the week.
-  The Griffins have gone 1-1-1 in their three conference matches at Dumke Field this season with a 1-1 draw with Colorado School of Mines in their last home match on Oct. 10.
-  Westminster has scored first in 10 of its 11 matches so far this season and has allowed the second-fewest goals (9) in the RMAC so far this season.
-  Goalkeeper Kelsea Cracroft has allowed the fewest goals (6) in the RMAC so far this season and is second in the conference in both save percentage (.838) and goals against average (.621).
-  While splitting time with fellow keeper Naomi Kehl, Cracroft has helped the Griffins defense keep opponents off of the scoresheet in five matches this season.
-  Attacking midfielder Alexa Maple has a pair of goals to go along with three assists on the season and ranks second in the RMAC with 3.83 shots per game.
Aimee Kurfurst is tied for third in the RMAC with her team-high five goals scored on the season.

About the Yellow Jackets:
-  Black Hills State snapped a five-match losing streak last weekend in a 2-2 draw at home vs. Adams State on Friday.  The Yellow Jackets then put an end to their six-match winless stretch with a 4-3 home win over N.M. Highlands on Sunday.
-  BHSU split its first four matches of the season including a 1-2 mark in non-conference play and a conference-opening win over CCU, but have since dropped five RMAC contests by a combined score of, 16-2.
-  The Yellow Jackets have attempted just 8.64 shots per game and have a conference-low 39 total shots on target all season (3.55 sog/g).
-  Emma Avery owns five of the Yellow Jackets' 13 goals scored as a team and is tied for third in the RMAC in scoring.
-  Westminster has never lost to Black Hills State and has gone 5-0 with only two goals allowed all-time vs. the Yellow Jackets.
-  The Griffins won the first ever matchup, 10-0, back in 2016 on a rainy Dumke Field.  Westminster won last season's matchup, 3-0, on the road in Spearfish, S.D., back in April.

About the Cougars:
-  After riding a four-match unbeaten streak in the heart of its conference schedule, Colorado Christian suffered back-to-back road losses at Colorado School of Mines and Regis last weekend.
-  CCU gave up a seventh-minute goal and lost, 1-0, to the Orediggers in Golden, Colo., on Friday night, and gave up a pair of first-half goals in a 3-1 loss at Regis on Sunday afternoon.
-  The Cougars saw a three-match win streak halted in a scoreless draw against Western Colo., back on Oct. 10.  CCU went 1-2-2 in non-conference play to begin the season and have since posted conference wins over Adams State, N.M. Highlands and Fort Lewis.
-  CCU currently ranks second-to-last in scoring average (.846) with only 11 goals scored over 13 matches so far this season.  Capri Dewing's five goals scored puts her in a tie for third in the RMAC and teammate Saige Stock (3) is the only other Cougar with multiple goals on the season.
-  Westminster has also never dropped a contest to Colorado Christian, going 4-0-1 all-time.  The Griffins won the last matchup, 1-0, at Dumke Field back in 2019 after the Cougars forwent the Spring 2021 season.
-  The only result for the Cougars came in a 1-1 draw back in 2016, with Westminster winning the previous three matchups by a combined score of 4-0.
-  The only contest that did not finish in a tie or a one-goal decision was a 2-0 win for Westminster at home back in 2017.
