SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Soccer Association today announces the election of ten new members to the Utah Soccer Hall of Fame. Westminster men's soccer head coach Chris Dorich is among the inductees. The ten new inductees are as follows:
 
2008 - Leen Hennekes (Posthumously) – SC Alemannia
2008 - Gunnar Hansen – Wailea, HI – SC United
2009 - Klaas Elting (Posthumously) – Hollandia SC 
2009 – Chris Dorich – North Salt Lake, UT – SS Lazio
2010 - Gus Colessides – Salt Lake City, UT – Pan World FC
2010 - Karen Chin – Salt Lake City, UT – FC Utah
2011 – Stefan Fritzsching - Riverton, UT – SC Alemannia
2012 - Hubert Hendriks, Jr. – Centerville, UT – Pan World FC
2013 - Stein Opsahl – Salt Lake City, UT – SC Alemannia
2014 - Geir Olsen – West Jordan, UT – Pan World FC
 
Dorich is in his 31st season as the head coach of the Griffins and enters the 2014 season ranked eighth in the NAIA among active coaches with 274 career wins. He is also one of three NAIA coaches that have spent the past 30 years at the same institution.
 
Furthermore, the Utah Soccer Association announced that Jim Anderson (2009), Shawn Halladay (2012), William Marsh (2008), Marge Pett (2010) & Randy Ploeger (2014) will receive their lifetime achievement awards that evening for their contributions toward soccer officiating and its development within the State, which is highest level of recognition to be given by the Utah State Soccer Referees Committee. 
 
An induction banquet in their honor, with Real Salt Lake as the event sponsor, has been scheduled at the Rio Tinto Stadium, Budweiser Club Real, located at 9256 South State Street, Sandy, 2nd Floor, west side entrance, on Saturday, August 16, 2014 - 7:00 p.m.  Along with the banquet & induction ceremony, the Utah Soccer Association has also scheduled a prominent guest speaker and representatives from Real Salt Lake. 
 
Tickets for this event may be purchased by contacting the Utah Soccer Association at (801) 263-8166 and can be purchased via credit card or by check/cash at the Association's office.  Cost is $38.00 per person.  An additional $2.00 p/person will be charged for credit card purchases. Tickets will not be sold at the door and must be purchased by Wednesday, August 13, 2014.
