NAIA Match of the Week
No. 22 Westminster (Utah) (4-0-0) at No. 10 Westmont (Calif.) (1-1-1)
Friday, Aug. 7 | Santa Barbara, Calif. | 4 p.m. PDT | Thorrington Field

• For the second-straight week, a pair of 2011 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship qualifiers take the pitch when undefeated No. 22 Westminster (Utah) travels to No. 10 Westmont (Calif.) on Friday. The contest, which is scheduled for a 4 p.m. PDT kickoff in Santa Barbara, Calif., is just the second meeting all-time between the two squads. The Warriors claimed the first match, 2-1, on Aug. 28, 2010.

• Westmont enters Friday with a 1-1-1 record following a 4-0 thrashing of Marymount (Calif.) on Aug. 31. The Warriors took a 1-0 lead into the break on an Alison Hensley goal in the 32nd minute before blowing the contest open in the second half with scores in the 52nd, 62nd and 89th minute. Defensively, Westmont held Marymount to only two shots with one on goal.

• Since 2008, the Warriors are 19-11-4 at Thorrington Field. Last season, Westmont outscored its opponents 29-5 in home contests en route to a 9-1-0 home record.

• Westmont returns a strong core from its 2011 squad, including NAIA All-Americans Ashley Correa and Alison Hensley. Correa, a senior forward, led the squad with nine goals and 10 assists a season ago. She scored a season-high three goals in the Warrior's 8-1 thrashing of San Diego Christian on Oct. 15. Correa is yet to find the score sheet this season, but tallied two assists against then-No. 6 Baker (Kan.) on Aug. 21. Hensley, a junior defender, scored one goal in 20 starts, but more importantly acted as a key member of a Westmont defense that allowed only 18 goals (0.9 goals against average) in 2011. She has started all three matches this season and is tied for the team lead with one goal.

• As a team, the Warriors ranks 20th nationally in shots per game with 22.

• Westminster (4-0-0) is 1-of-39 unbeaten teams in the NAIA and 1-of-9 squads that have played at least four matches.

• The Griffins road trip to Westmont marks the first away match for Westminster this season. Since 2008, Westminster is 7-26-2 away from Salt Lake City, including a 3-3-0 mark in 2011.

• Westminster, headlined by first team All-Frontier Conference performers Margo Hickman and Dayna Winter-Nolte, returns 18 players from the 2011 squad that reached the NAIA National Championship for the first time in school history.

• Hickman, a senior forward, was the Griffins' scoring leader a year ago with 11 goals (five game winning), five assists and 27 points. She posted back-to-back multi-goal efforts against Mobile (Ala.) on Sept. 10 and Kansas Wesleyan on Sept. 16. This season, Hickman ranks fourth nationally with four assists and is tied for third on the team with two goals.

• Winter-Nolte registered a 12-7-2 record in 21 starts in goal last season. Her .980 goals against averaged ranked 36th in the NAIA. This season, Winter-Nolte has split time with Jamie Wilkinson. Both goal keepers are 2-0 on the year with Wilkinson leading the way with six saves.

• Newcomer Rylei North has emerged as the top scoring threat so far for the Griffins. North owns a team-high six goals, including a hat trick against Doane (Neb.) on Sept. 1. Her three game-winning goals tie her with three others for the NAIA lead.

• As a team, Westminster is amongst the top 20 in assists (14), shutouts (2), goals (17), assists per game (3.5) and goals per game (4.25)
