PORTLAND, Ore. – The 24th-ranked Westminster College women's soccer team played to a 0-0 tied against Southern Oregon on Friday afternoon. Playing their first game as a ranked team, Westminster couldn't find the net and remained winless away from home.
With the tie, Westminster is now 6-3-1 this season and 0-2-1 away from Dumke Field. Southern Oregon ended the game at 3-4-1.
Both teams managed to attempt 12 shots with SOU getting four of their 12 during the 20 minutes of overtime. Westminster had eight shots in the first half and also took five corner kicks during the game.
Sarah Swenson attempted a Griffin-best four shots and put three of them on frame.
Corie Walch and
Margo Hickman each fired two shots.
Dayna Winter-Nolte posted four saves in the Westminster frame.
Westminster will complete the road trip on Sunday when they face No. 5 Concordia (Ore.) at 2 p.m.
