LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The eighth-ranked Westminster men's lacrosse team opened its weekend trip to California with a 19-3 win over UC Santa Cruz on Sunday evening.
Westminster (2-1) held a 7-2 advantage at halftime before erupting in the second half.
Jake Arthur spurred a third quarter run that carried the Griffins to a 12-1 second half advantage.
Josh Condas led the Westminster attack with four goals and one assist. Arthur finished with four goals while
Andrew Gordon and
Andy Lehr posted two goals and one assists apiece.
Marshall Serzen won 15-of-17 faceoffs.
Dallas McLellan made several key saves between the pipes.
The Griffins will complete the road trip on Monday when they face No. 24 Concordia (Calif.) at 1 p.m. in Irvine, Calif.
