Concordia Advances Past Griffins behind First Half Goal

Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – The 23rd-ranked Westminster College women's soccer team saw its season come to an end during the 2011 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round.  The No. 8 seed Concordia (Ore.) used a first half goal to defeat Westminster 1-0 at Tuominen Yard on Saturday evening.

Jackie Hendrickson scored the game's only goal in the 20th minute off a corner kick.  Adrienne Lommasson played the corner kick into the box where Hendrickson put it past Westminster keeper Dayna Winter-Nolte.

Westminster managed just one shot in the game, coming from junior Margo Hickman in the 43rd minute.  Concordia managed 15 shots in the game and put four on frame.  Winter-Nolte came up with three saves in defeat.

The season will end for the Griffins at 12-7-2 overall.  The 12 wins set a new school record and they advanced to the NAIA National Championships for the first time in school history.
