SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's soccer team played into overtime for the fifth time this season on Sunday morning and came away with a 1-0 victory over Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). Vanessa Jordan found the back of the net with just 28 seconds remaining on the first overtime clock for her first goal of the season.

Jordan scored after gaining possession just inside the box. She turned and fired just inside the far post and set off the celebration. This is the second time this season the Griffins (3-4-1) have secured an overtime win at home in the final minute of the first overtime.

Westminster finished the game with a 12-5 advantage in shots, including a 9-4 lead after halftime. Westminster put just four of those attempts on frame. Each team also took three corner kicks in the game and they combined for 19 fouls.

Heather Hillam attempted a team-best three shots with Jordan joining Nicole Taylor and Brianna Wilson with two shots apiece. Jordan put each of her shots on goal and scored the winner just two minutes after entering the game in the OT session. Lindsay Bekken posted her fourth shutout of the season with three saves. She hasn't allowed a goal in two straight games.

Westminster will return to action on Sunday, September 19 when they host Great Falls in the Frontier Conference opener. First kick at Dumke Field is set for 1 p.m.
