Regular Season Ends with Loss to Carroll

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 HELENA, Mont. – The Westminster women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 defeat against No. 23 Carroll College on Sunday afternoon. Westminster jumped out to an early 1-0 advantage, but Carroll rallied with three straight goals to seal the victory. The loss drops the Griffins to 10-7-1 on the season and to 3-3 in the Frontier Conference.

Mgean Maldonado put Westminster in front 1-0 when she scored on an assists from Sarah Swenson in the 15th minute. The lead would be short lived as Carroll got a goal from Abby Coburn in the 18th minute to level the game at 1-1. McKinly Dennis tallied the game winner in the 45th minute as she finished a cross from Macie Netz. Meghan O'Connell added the insurance goal in the 66th minute for Carroll.

The Griffins got eight shots away with seven being on frame. Heather Hillam was the only Griffin to record multiple shots with two. Both shots by Hillam were on frame. Lindsay Bekken suffered the loss in goal despite making three saves.

THURSDAY, vs. ROCKY MOUNTAIN
Chloe Pennisi scored in the 61st minute to put Rocky Mountain College in front 1-0 over the Westminster women's soccer team.  That goal would turn into the eventual game winner in the 2-0 RMC victory.  Danielle WIlconx would strike in the 85th minute for some insurance for the Bears.

Tanisia Wilson led the Griffins with two shots and the team only recorded three shots in the contest.  Lindsay Bekken posted five saves between the pipes.

SATURDAY vs. GREAT FALLS
Westminster got a goal from Heather Hillam off a set piece in the 47th minute to lead the Griffins to a 1-0 victory.  Vanessa Jordan fired the free kick into the box where Hillam flicked it in the net.

Westminster would fire 18 shots in teh game and out eight on frame.  Hillam led the attack with four shots with Nicole Taylor, Megan Maldonado, and Sarah Swenson each posting three shots.  Lindsay Bekken made three saves in posting her record eighth sutout of the season.

The 10 wins on the season for the team is the most ever for a season in school history.
