Westminster Tops Fullerton 10-5 in SoCal

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. - On a cloudy day in Southern California the Griffin lacrosse team moved to 3-0 for March as they handed host Cal State Fullerton a 10-5 defeat. Off to a 4-0 lead the Griffins appeared in command but a transition goal with less than 20 seconds remaining in the period gave the Titans some life as they headed to intermission. Fullerton netminder, Ozhan Kashkooll notched 21 saves keeping the Griffin offense at bay while the Titan offense mounted a comeback.

When Titan Freshman Mike ANsel notched his 28th and 29th goal of the year in the third quarter, it appeared the Griffins were in for the game they expected but Griffin Sophomore Attackman, Josh Condas (6g/0a) found the three times in the third to help Westminster stop the Titan surge and seal the victory.

Dalllas McLellan (20sv/5ga) stopped 20 shots as the Griffins moved to (5 -3) on the season. Next the Griffins will face the Western Washington Vikings at 1:30 PM PDT Sunday. That game will be played at Biola University.
