SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The Westminster Griffins picked up their first road win of the season with a 3-2 defeat of Cal Sate-San Marcos on Sunday afternoon. San Marcos controlled much of the action, but the Griffins struck for three goals during a 23 miute stretch to claim the victory. Westminster improves to 6-2-2 on the season with the win.

Jeff Gardner evened the game at one with his goal from 20-yards out in the 42nd minute. Dino Busuladzic made it 2-1 for Westminster with his goal in the 55th minute. Matt Smith continued the Griffins run with the eventual game winner from Robert Ward in the 65th minute. San Marcos recorded 16 shots while holding the Griffins to just seven. Val Campbell recorded four saves in the win.

Next for Westminster is a September 26 match at Mesa State in Grand Junction, Colorado.
