Box Score SALT LAKE CITY - The Westminster Griffins bounced back from a season opening loss with an impressive 3-2 win over Sioux Falls on Dumke Field Sunday morning. Three different players found the net for the Griffins in the win, improving the team to 1-1 on the young season.

Jennifer Pirente struck first when she chipped the ball over the goalie from the top of the box in the 10th minute. Sioux Falls answered in the 20th minute with a goal by Megan Aanenson, but Westminster put the next two on the board to pick up the win. Corie Walch scored her first collegiate goal in the 21st minute and Sarah Swenson added her first career goal, a game winner, in the 52nd minute.

The Griffins hit the road for sunny California next weekend when they face Fresno Pacific and Concordia. Westminster will take on Fresno Pacific on August 30 at 7:00 p.m.
