Bringing the thunder from down-under, junior Wesley Spargo has made an immediate impact out of the blocks with no less than 6 Griffin track records, (5 individual), including almost every sprint and hurdle event. Currently on leave from studies for his Masters in Physical Therapy at La Trobe University in hometown Melbourne, Australia, Wesley is a Spanish & Latin America Studies major for the Purple people. Griffin track coach Quinn can thank “Old Charlie” for not offering track to sate the junior’s competitive thirst, as Wesley is fair dinkum bringing Australian Junior National competition chops and a prestigious Aussie Full Blue award to the Griffin squad. Going from hard by Port Phillip and the confluence of the Yara and Maribyrnong in the “World’s Most Livable City”, to tucked against the Wasatch in “Ski City’s” Sugarhouse is a great trade for the junior, as a yearning for foreign lands and culture are prominent on his bucket list. While hard to slow him down, the 6’ sprinter excels behind a desk with bonzer high school Academic Full Honours at Melbourne’s Ivanhoe Grammer School, and Spargo is cargo aboard the Westminster Dean’s List. Cheering ace and good onya from the opposite season and end of the earth in Victoria’s capitol is brother Evan and parents Josephine and Allan.
