While she attended high school just up the street and ruled the soccer pitch for the Highland Rams, sophomore Megan Bolding dribbled south to Southern Utah University for her freshman season, and now ball-handles her futbol talents back north to Salt Lake City and the Griffins. An avowed hardcore “Roll Tide” caliber Alabama fan raised in Tuscaloosa, much of her family is from Tennessee and Megan claims Volunteer allegiance as well. A self-proclaimed, “southern girl at heart,” perhaps her stint at SUU was influenced by the institution’s proximity to “Utah’s Dixie?” Regardless, Griffin soccer and track are in for the win, as the potential Pre-Law major will give the middle distances a try for the running purple people. In addition to her physical abilities, the multi-sport athlete, (no small feat at the collegiate level), is a perennial achiever in the classroom. Megan maintained a 3.8 GPA and was an Honor Roll fixture for the Rams, and her time with the Thunderbirds garnered an Academic Athlete Award; residence on the SUU Dean’s List; and induction as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. While her thirst for water-skiing is probably not as well-quenched as it was growing up in Dixie, there’s plenty of snow-skiing here, and Megan’s limited free time includes hiking, drawing, and piano-playing. Good times are assured with friends and Bolding family consisting of parents Sheri and Scott; sisters Taylor, Amity and Kalindy; and brothers Justin and Brandon. On the ‘phones while training, Megan prefers a wide range including country and R&B.
