The Westminster men's golf team turned in a historic performance at the SMU Bishop Invitational, finishing tied for third at 15-under 849, the lowest 54-hole total in program history. The Griffins also recorded three consecutive under-par team scores for the first time ever, shooting rounds of 284, 278, and 282.
Leading the way was Hayden Howell, who tied for fifth at 7-under (71–66–72). Howell's strong play earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Just behind him, Nic Jensen tied for eighth with a closing-round 67 to finish 4-under (70–75–67), marking back-to-back Griffins inside the top 10.
Andrew Ahlstrom posted a steady week to tie for 21st at even par (74–72–70), while Wyatt Toney finished tied for 28th at 2-over (70–75–73). Rounding out the lineup, Anthony Goodson tied for 33rd at 3-over (70–73–76).
With two top-10 individual finishes, an all-tournament selection, and a new program scoring record, Westminster showed impressive depth and momentum early in the season.
The Griffins will return to action at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational on October 14–16.
