Howell Leads Griffins to T10 Finish at The Sam Proal

Tournament Breakdown

Round One

Westminster opened The Sam Proal with a team score of +10. Howell and Ahlstrom each led the way at +1 (72), while Wyatt Toney added a +2 (73). Jake DeBry's +6 (77) rounded out the counting scores.

Round Two 

The Griffins posted their best team round of the tournament in Round 2, carding a +5. Howell led the way with the low round of the day for Westminster at 4-under (67), while Ahlstrom contributed a +1 (72) and Toney and DeBry each added a +4 (75).

Round Three 

Westminster closed with a +15 team score to finish the tournament at +30, tied for 10th overall. Howell paced the Griffins once again at +1 (72), with Ahlstrom adding a +2 (73). Toney and DeBry each posted a +6 (77) to round out the counting scores. 


Griffin Performances

Westminster tied with Colorado Mesa and Colorado Mines (B) at +30 for 10th place, finishing ahead of fellow RMAC member South Dakota Mines, who finished 18th at +74.

  • Hayden Howell finished 8th overall with rounds of +1 (72), -4 (67), and +1 (72) for a 54-hole total of -2. Howell led the entire field in individual par-3 scoring at -2 with an average of 2.87, and ranked T4 in the field in birdies with 13 on the week.

  • Andrew Ahlstrom finished 22nd with rounds of +1 (72), +1 (72), and +2 (73) for a 54-hole total of +4. Ahlstrom ranked T5 in the field in individual par-3 scoring at +1 with an average of 3.07.

  • Wyatt Toney finished 54th with rounds of +2 (73), +4 (75), and +6 (77) for a 54-hole total of +12.

  • Jake DeBry finished 70th with rounds of +6 (77), +4 (75), and +6 (77) for a 54-hole total of +16.

  • Ty Anderson finished 99th with rounds of +13 (84), +8 (79), and +9 (80) for a 54-hole total of +30.

Also competing as an individual, Aiden Pavey finished 88th with rounds of +7 (78), +7 (78), and +8 (79) for a 54-hole total of +22.

Westminster also ranked 3rd in the field in team par-3 scoring at +19 with an average of 3.25.
