The Westminster men's golf team opened its season with players split between two tournaments — the Travis Roy Memorial in Sheridan, Wyoming, and the Soldier Hollow Invitational hosted by the University of Utah.
At the Travis Roy Memorial, the Griffins' top five tied for eighth place with Montana State, finishing at +30 as a team. Ty Anderson led the way with a +4 to place 18th overall. He was followed by Hayden Howell (+11, T-42), Wyatt Toney (+11, T-42), Andrew Ahlstrom (+12, T-45), and Anthony Goodson (+12, T-45).
Meanwhile, at Soldier Hollow, three Griffins competed in the individuals-only event. Nic Jensen paced the group with a +2, tying for 15th place. Aidan Pavey carded a +24 (54th), and Jake DeBry rounded out the group at +39 (58th).
The Griffins return to action this weekend at the San Juan Intercollegiate, hosted at Bridges Golf Course in Montrose, Colorado.
