Salt Lake City, Utah – The Division II NCAA Golf National Selection Committee announced Monday that Westminster women's golfer
Ashley Lam, who captured the individual title at the RMAC Women's Golf Championship last week, has been selected to compete as an individual in the 2025 NCAA West Regional, which will be held at Tascosa Golf Club, La Paloma Course in Amarillo, Texas, May 5-7, 2025.
Lam's championship performance at the RMAC Tournament solidified her selection. The tournament saw her card an impressive -8 overall score, including a first-round 4-under-par with seven birdies that set the tone for her victory. She maintained her composure through all three rounds, closing strong with three critical birdies on the back nine of her final round for a second 4-under-par 68.
"Ashley is the first individual to qualify for the Region Tournament from our program. I am very proud of all she has accomplished as a Freshman and have high hopes for her to make it to Nationals," said Coach
Denise Larson.
Throughout the 2024-25 season, Lam demonstrated remarkable consistency, leading the Griffins with two wins, a runner up finish, and four top-10 finishes, earning RMAC Golfer of the Week honors two times. Her strong play has now earned her a spot among the region's best as she prepares to compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships.
