Grand Junction, CO – The Westminster Griffins Women's Golf team put together a strong showing at Redlands Mesa Golf Course, finishing second overall on the team leaderboard. Leading the way, and picking up her first collegiate win, was
Ashley Lam. Lam claimed first place individually shooting rounds of 71-74 for a total score of +1 for the tournament.
Lam recorded three birdies in both the first and second rounds, helping her stay on top and secure the victory. Her consistent play set the tone for a solid team performance.
"This is the first of what promises to be many wins at the college level for Ashley," Coach
Denise Larson said. "She is a special talent and plays with the pose and confidence that most freshman lack. Our entire team is trending nicely as we head to the RMAC Championship next week. This tournament was a great sign that we can go there and do something special."
