Hayward, CA – The Westminster men's golf team kicked off their spring season at the Cal State East Bay Pioneer Shootout, finishing 15th on the team leaderboard.
Nic Jensen and
Andrew Ahlstrom paced the Griffins with a combined score of +9, landing them in a tie for 67th place individually.
Hayden Howell placed 76th, while
Aiden Pavey finished in 78th.
Tate Snow rounded out Westminster's competitors in the event.
Jensen highlighted the Griffins' final round with four birdies, climbing the leaderboard to improve his overall standing. Meanwhile, both Ahlstrom and Howell added an eagle to their scorecards during the tournament.
"Early season rust coming out of winter is understandable at the first tournament of the spring. I expect the team to bounce back in a big way in Arizona," said head coach
Alec Williams.
