SALT LAKE CITY, UT — The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference released its 2026-27 Men's Golf Preseason Coaches' Poll on Tuesday, with Westminster University picked to finish fifth in the seven-team league.
The Griffins collected 15 points in the poll, sitting between third-place Colorado Christian and Colorado School of Mines (26 points each) and sixth-place Fort Lewis (11 points). Colorado Mesa was tabbed the preseason favorite with 34 points and five first-place votes, followed by CSU Pueblo at No. 2 with 28 points. South Dakota Mines rounded out the poll in seventh with seven points. Head coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team.
Westminster also placed two student-athletes on the 2026-27 Preseason All-RMAC Team, announced alongside the poll. Seniors Hayden Howell (Smithfield, Utah) and Nic Jensen (Las Vegas, Nev.) both earned recognition — Howell as a First Team All-RMAC selection and Jensen as a Second Team All-RMAC selection in 2025-26. The eight-man preseason team is determined by placing returning athletes according to their national rankings from the previous season, and is made up entirely of 2025-26 First and Second Team All-RMAC honorees — three from the First Team and five from the Second Team.
