COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --Â Eden Freiberg scored three goals after the Griffins make a late comeback push,Â
but it wasn't enough as University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (5-3, 2-1) score 12 goals in the first half and capture the 15-7 victory.Â
Westminster was held to one lone goal in the first half of play asÂ
Maddie Kelleher scored in the first period and the Griffins were held scoreless until late in the third period as Freiberg was able to end the scoreless drought.Â
That goal by Freiberg, started the scoring streak for the Griffins before the final period began,Â

Nicole Fraser(;Assist by
Grace Rappl) added three more goals inclduing Freiberg's second goal of the game as the end of the third was 12-5 in favor of the Mountain Lions.Â
Westminster added two more goals by
Hannah Kelleher and Freiberg, before the Mountain Lions were able to score which chipped the lead down for the Griffins to mount momentum to get back into the game, UCCS ended the day with the final three goals.Â
Despite, outscoring the Moutain Lions 6-3 in the second half of action it wasn't enough, but now Westminster will still have a chance to capture a win in Colorado, as they travelÂ
