Salt Lake City, UT -- The Westminster Griffins Women's Lacrosse team return home on Dumke Field, but fell to the Lindenwood Lions (7-2, 0-0) 21-3.
Westminster saw
Grace Carico score the first goal of the game in the first period of action, but the Griffins would be held scoreless in periods 2 and 3 until
Grace Rappl and
Hannah Kelleher both netted late goals in the final period of play to end the scoreless streak as the final horn sounded in Salt Lake City.
The Lions offensive game plan was too much for the Griffins to handle as the Griffins goal keepers were faced a tough task of stopping 31 shots on goal and having 21 turnovers was too much to overcome in a non-conference battle against a good team from Missouri.
The Griffins will now turn their attention to the road as they travel to UCCS on April 1 and Regis University on April 3 with back to back road games before returning back to Westminster College.
