PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. - Masen Ward (+10) finished in a tie for 22nd overall and the Westminster men's golf team finished in 11th as a team (+57) at the Spring Bulldog Clash at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
Round One - Monday, Feb. 28:
Masen Ward and
Zach Dallimore each finished the first round tied for 20th after tying for the team lead with three-over-par scores of 73 to begin the tournament. Both Ward and Dallimore were paced with a strong front nine holes where they finished with even-par scores.
The Griffins sat in seventh after an average first-round score of 76 from the Westminster five. Overall, the Griffins had a solid start with four of the five golfers finishing in the top 35.
Round Two - Monday, Feb. 28:
Day one in sunny South Carolina came to a close with round two as
Masen Ward continued to lead the way shooting four-over-par with four birdies in round two.
The Griffins finished the second round in 11th heading into the final round on Tuesday.
Round Three - Tuesday, March 1:
The Westminster men's golf team bounced back on day two and shot a team best 9-over-par as a a group with all five golfers shooting their best rounds of to begin day two.
Zach Dallimore shot a one-over-par 71 to finish the tournament tied for 33rd overall. Also for the Griffins in the final round,
Max Lunt shot a three-over-par 73 to finish tied for 45th overall,
Bryson Hirabayashi shot a two-over-par 72 to finish tied for 48th overall, and
Isaac Headrick shot a four-over-par 74 finishing tied for 61st.
The Griffins score in round three was their best of the tournament by nine strokes and they will look to continue that momentum into next week on March 7-8 at the Warrior Invitational in Las Vegas, Nev.
