LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz.--The men's golf team over took South Dakota School of Mines in the final round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships held at the Wigwam Golf Course, to finish eighth.
CSU Pueblo posted a three-round total of 874 and were crowned RMAC Champions with a 16-stroke advantage over Fort Lewis (890) in second and 18-stroke advantage over Colorado Mesa in third (892).
The Griffins shot 299 in the third round, their best round of the tournament and an improvement of 16 strokes from the first and second rounds. The Griffins entered the final round ninth having scored 312 in the first two rounds. The team overtook and finished nine strokes ahead of the Hard Rockers with a score of 920 (+56).
Zach Dallimore shot 1-under, 71 and
Masen Ward shot 1-over, 73 in the final round for a three-round total of 228 finishing tied 22nd with Nathan McMann of CSU Pueblo and Austin Duffy of Regis.
Alec Williams Davis Amis and
Max Lunt all turned in final round scores of 76. Williams finished tied 26th (229) one stroke behind Dallimore and Ward. Amis finished tied 36th (237) and Lunt finished tied 40th (240).
