Men's Golf Starts Strong at Samuel Proal Invitational

PEUBLO, Colo.—Westminster's men's golf is tied fifth at the end of day one of the Farmers Insurance Samuel Proal Invitational, hosted by CSU-Pueblo at the Walking Stick Golf Course. The second round was suspended due to darkness. P
 
Only seven strokes separated first from seventh through the first round. The Griffins finished 6-under, 280, for the lead with three golfers in the top 10.  Bryson Hirabayashi and Alec Williams were tied sixth at 3-under and Max Lunt was tide 10th at 2-under.
 
Westminster is 4-over through 13 holes of the second round. Over 31 holes, The Griffins are tied fifth with Colorado Christian and within three strokes of Colorado School of Mines in fourth.  Hirabayashi held his position in the leaderboard and Zach Dallimore moved up from Tied 30th to tied 18th with Williams.
 
CSU-Pueblo ended the day 14-under to lead the field with Texas A&M International on stroke back and Hutchinson Community College four strokes back.
 
Play resumes tomorrow morning at 9 am with teams finishing the remaining holes of the second round before beginning the third and final round. Live scoring will be available through Golfstat.
