GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Westminster men's cross country shaved nearly eight minutes off its 8K time at the Mountaineer/Cowboy Invite (Sep. 19) earlier this season. The Griffins finished sixth among RMAC competition.
Western Colorado won with 25 points and swept the podium with Taylor Stack finishing first in 24:18.7
All eight runners set season best times with three
Riley McCarter,
Thomas Maxfield and Mach Taylor setting personal best.
DJ Matthews and
Tony Nickerson finished first and second for the Griffins in a third straight meet. Matthews placed 29
th in 26:25.1 and Nickerson finished 36
th in 26:45.2.
Aiden Urban finished 64
th (28:25.2)
Riley McCarter finished 70
th (28:48.5) and rounding out the top five was
Thomas Maxfield finishing 78
th (29:53.5).
Skyler Hobbs finished just a second behind Maxfield (29:54.7) followed by
Andrew Ross (30:16.5) and Mack Taylor (30:42.3).
The RMAC Championships are just a weekend away on Oct. 24 at Monument Valley Park, hosted by University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
