Season Continues at BYU
The Westminster cross country team returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Provo, Utah to run in the
BYU Autumn Classic. Both races will take place at the East Bay Golf Course.
Colorado College Recap
The Westminster cross country teams came away with seventh and eighth place finishes at the Colorado College Invitational on Saturday at Monument Valley Park.
The Westminster men finished with 184 points and an average time of 29:07 over the 8-kilometer course. The Griffins women scored 192 points with an average of 26:17 on the 6-kilometer course.
On the men's side,
DJ MATTHEWS led the team with his 45th-place result after completing the race in 28:00.
Eric Mellmer would finish in 28:31 to place 52nd while
TONY NICKERSON placed 68th running 29:35, followed by teammate
SKYLER HOBBS finishing at 29:40 and placing 69th.
KATIE SCOTT anchored the women by placing 38th in the field. The freshman finished in 25:30 to cross the line as the first Griffin.
CHRISTINE SHEEHAN finished in 25:46 to place 40th and
HANNAH PAINTER was 49th with a time of 26:20.
RMAC Poll
Both Westminster teams were picked to finish 15th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference this season.
Looking Ahead
Next up for the Griffins cross country teams is a September 30 race at the
32nd Annual Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, Colorado hosted by the University of Colorado.
