Westminster Travels to Colorado for Two RMAC Games
The Westminster women's lacrosse team will spend the weekend in Colorado for a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games. The Griffins begin the trip at Adams State on Friday at noon in Alamosa, Colo. They will then play at Fort Lewis on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Durango, Colo.
Both games will be broadcast live on the RMAC Network with the host school producing the content. The RMAC Network is available online or by downloading the RMAC Network app on your Roku device. Live stats will also be available for each contest.
About the Griffins
Westminster will return to regular season competition after a 16-8 win over Brigham Young on Saturday in an exhibition game at Dumke Field. The Griffins are 4-2 overall this season and 1-1 at home. They are currently tied for third in the RMAC standings with a 2-1 mark in conference games.
The Griffins are scoring 15.17 goals per game this season while adding 5.50 assists per game. They rank third in the RMAC in scoring offense and fourth in assists. The team attempts 27.33 shots per contest – third in the league – and they score on a conference-best 55.5 percent of those shots.
Kira Heiden has scored 22 goals on the year and leads the RMAC by averaging 3.67 goals per game.

Morgan Bakarich has a team-high 17 assists and leads the RMAC at 2.83 assists per game. Heiden attempts 5.50 shots per game with Adams adding 5.17 per outing.
Westminster leads the RMAC by gathering 15.83 draw controls per game and they are fifth in the conference at 19.67 ground balls per game. The Griffins commit 23.17 turnovers in a game and they are fourth in the RMAC at 12.50 caused turnovers per game.
Heiden is third in the RMAC by getting 4.17 draw controls per game. Adams picks up 2.50 ground balls per game to rank eighth in the league. Kirstina Sewell is ninth in the RMAC by causing 1.67 turnovers per contest.
Westminster makes a RMAC-leading 11.00 saves per game while sitting fourth with a .465 save percentage.
Taylor Hekking is fourth in the conference with her .476 save percentage and eighth by recoding 6.50 saves per game.
Heiden Climbing
Kira Heiden scored 13 goals during the Griffins two games in Minnesota and currently leads the team with 22 goals. She had her streak of 13 straight games with a goal snapped against Lindenwood. Heiden has three assists on the season to tie for the team lead with 25 points. She sits in the RMAC top-10 in four statistical categories, including leading the conference at 3.67 goals per game. Heiden is fourth in school history with 122 career goals and sixth with 54 career points.
Adams Streak
Katie Adams is second on the team with 20 goals and she ranks second in the RMAC by scoring 3.33 goals per game. When she didn't; score against Lindenwood, Adams finished tied for the second-longest goal scoring streak in team history with a goal in 27 consecutive games dating back to the 2015 season. Adams leads this year's team with five free-position goals and 15 draw controls. Earlier this season she became the seventh Griffin to reach 100 career points and she is 17 goals away from becoming the seventh Griffin to score 100 career goals.
Bakarich Creating
Morgan Bakarich has at least one assist in all but one game this season and she leads the team with 17 assists. Her 2.83 assists per game lead the RMAC and would rank ninth in the NCAA if Westminster players were eligible for national rankings. Bakarich has added eight goals to tie for the team lead with 25 points and she is tied with Heiden for third in the RMAC at 4.17 points per game. Bakarich strts the week fifth in school history with 42 career assists and ninth with 88 career points.
Hekking Stopping
Taylor Hekking has started all six games for the Griffins with 18 consecutive starts since joining the program last season. In 165 minutes this season, Hekking has made 39 saves for a .476 save percentage and 15.65 goals-against-average. She made a season-high eight saves in the win over Concordia-St. Paul on February 24. Hekking is third in school history with 109 saves and is one of only three Griffins with 100 career saves.
