THE AGENDAThe Westminster men's lacrosse team will close the regular season this weekend as they host a pair of Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games. They open play on Friday against Adams State at 4 p.m. before facing Colorado State University-Pueblo on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Both games will be played at Dumke Field located on the campus of Westminster College. Friday is Youth Lacrosse Day with free admission to youth lacrosse players wearing their jersey to the game. Sunday is Senior Day with the team recognizing its senior class prior to the opening faceoff.

ABOUT THE GRIFFINSWestminster enters the weekend with a 6-2 overall record and they lead the RMAC with a 5-1 mark in conference games. They have secured a spot in the inaugural RMAC Tournament and could still host the tournament with two wins this weekend and a loss from Colorado Mesa or winning the tiebreaker.
ON OFFENSEThe Griffins rank second in the RMAC and 23rd in the NCAA by scoring 11.75 goals per game. The team averages 41.25 shots per game and they score on 28.5 percent of those opportunities. They are fourth in the RMAC by putting 25.0 shots on goal per contest.
Josh Holland has scored a team-high 27 goals on the season and he is second in the RMAC and eight in the NCAA by scoring 3.38 goals per game. He is third in the league by scoring 4.25 points per game which is 21st in the NCAA. Holland leads the RMAC by taking 10.38 shots per game.
Thomas Sarjeant ranks second in the league and 12th in the NCAA by getting 2.25 assists per game.
ON DEFENSEWestminster opponents have scored 72 goals during the season and they are taking 35.1 shots per contest. The opposition get 60.1 percent of their shots on cage. The Griffins lead the RMAC by winning 61.7 percent of faceoff chances. That ranks ninth in the NCAA. They are second on the league by averaging 8.0 caused turnovers per game and have a .847 clear percentage while holding opponents to .796 percent.
Jake Berard is winning .630 percent of faceoffs to rank 13th in the NCAA and second in the RMAC among those with enough attempts. He leads the team with 39 ground balls and is second in the RMAC at 4.88 per game.

Elias Fairman are tied for the team lead with seven caused turnovers.
IN CAGEWestminster sits second in the conference with a 8.80 goals-against-average and .574 save percentage. The team is making 12.12 saves per game to rank 23rd in the NCAA.
Philip Cannell has started all eight games in goal and posted an 8.18 GAA to rank second in the conference and 11th in the NCAA. He has five wins and made 86 saves with his .581 save percentage that ranks seventh in the NCAA.
SPECIAL TEAMSWestminster has gone 9 of 28 on the man-advantage this season and are third in the conference at 32.1 percent. Opponents have gone 9 of 24 with the man-advantage to rank the Griffins fourth in the RMAC by killing 62.5 percent. Holland has scored a team-best four man-up goals while

Troy Vance each have two.
CLIMBING THE CHARTSJosh Holland will start the final week of the regular season with 111 career goals to rank sixth in school history. He ranks second in school history by scoring 2.78 goals per game in his career. Holland is also sixth in team history with 147 points and fourth by taking 313 shots.
Jake Berard is second in Westminster history with 192 ground balls and with a career .600 faceoff winning percentage.
Thomas Sarjeant ranks seventh in school history with his 47 career assists and his 2.04 assists per game is the highest average all-time.
RMAC TOURNAMENTThe inaugural RMAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament will be played on May 6-7 at the home site of the regular season champion. Westminster and Colorado Mesa have each secured a spot in the tournament and are on pace to tie for the regular season title. If both teams win their remaining RMAC games the RMAC will use the approved tiebreaker scenarios to determine the host of the tournament.
