Game Breakdown
First Quarter
Concordia University Irvine came out fast, scoring three unanswered goals — Max Texter at 13:35, followed by two from Cameron Regenstreif at 13:05 and 11:54 — to take a 3-0 lead. Westminster answered with back-to-back goals from Ridge Crouch at 11:35 and 9:50 to cut the deficit to 3-2, before Luke Sillstrop tied the game at 3-3 at 6:48, assisted by Daxton Jensen. CUI responded with two straight from Regenstreif and Noah Pillow to lead 5-3, but the Griffins scored twice in the final 2:21 — Sillstrop assisted by Harrison Edwards and Cam Conti with nine seconds remaining — to close the quarter tied at 5-5.
Second Quarter
Westminster dominated the second quarter, outshooting CUI 20-2 and scoring twice without allowing a goal. Sillstrop found the back of the net at 4:04, assisted again by Harrison Edwards, to give the Griffins their first lead at 6-5. Boden Laforce added an unassisted goal at 0:39 to push Westminster's advantage to 7-5 heading into the half.
Third Quarter
Concordia flipped the script in the third, shutting out Westminster and scoring three unanswered goals to retake the lead. Jack Lepore pulled CUI within one at 6-7, Jeremy Barnes tied it at 7-7 on a Max Texter assist, and Erik Hollis gave the Golden Eagles the lead at 8-7 with 3:34 remaining. Westminster was held scoreless in the quarter for the first time all game.
Fourth Quarter
The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth battle. Ridge Crouch tied it at 8-8 at 12:24, assisted by Kaydin Berry, but Cameron Regenstreif put CUI back ahead at 9-8 just 42 seconds later. Jeremy Barnes extended the lead to 10-8 at 8:08. The Griffins mounted another comeback — Crouch pulled within one at 10-9, assisted by Cale Gunter, and Boden Laforce tied it at 10-10 at 4:43. With 45 seconds remaining, CUI's Max Texter scored a man-up goal, assisted by Matt Carresi, to put the Golden Eagles ahead 11-10. Westminster answered with 11 seconds left as Sillstrop, assisted by Duke DeVault, knotted the score at 11-11 to force overtime.
Overtime
Westminster won the opening faceoff but turned the ball over. Concordia University Irvine controlled possession and Noah Pillow scored at 1:02 of overtime to give CUI the 12-11 championship victory and the RMAC's automatic bid to the 2026 NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship. It is the Golden Eagles' first RMAC Championship since joining the conference three seasons ago.
