Game Breakdown
First Quarter
Westminster came out of the gate strong, scoring five unanswered goals to open the RMAC Tournament semifinal.
Daxton Jensen scored twice — at 11:21 and 6:06 — while
Harrison Edwards,
Luke Sillstrop, and
Cale Gunter each added a goal to push the lead to 5-0. Northwest Nazarene scored twice in the final minute on goals from Colton Altimus and Caleb Mainwaring to cut the deficit to 5-2, but
Hayden Hansen answered with 16 seconds remaining to send Westminster into the second leading 6-2.
Second Quarter
NNU opened the second quarter with three straight goals — two from Hank Riddle and one from Colton Altimus — to pull within one at 6-5.
Duke DeVault answered for Westminster at 7:29 to push the lead back to 7-5, but Kellen Young pulled NNU within one at 7-6 just over two minutes later. The Griffins responded with four consecutive goals from
Kaydin Berry,
Cale Gunter,
Ridge Crouch, and
Harrison Edwards to close the half leading 11-6.
Third Quarter
Northwest Nazarene opened the third on a Kellen Young man-up goal to make it 7-11, but Westminster quickly regained momentum with five straight —
Camden Stanley,
Ridge Crouch,
Theo Le, and back-to-back tallies from
Tate Craig and
Luke Sillstrop at 1:34 and 1:24 — to push the lead to 16-7. NNU closed the quarter with back-to-back goals from Colton Altimus and Kellen Young, but Westminster led 16-9 heading to the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
Hayden Hansen, assisted by
Theo Le, extended the lead to 17-9 just 24 seconds into the final frame.
Duke DeVault added a man-up goal at 10:32 to make it 18-9, before Drew Guerrero scored a man-down goal for NNU at 10:03 to pull the score to 18-10.
Boden Laforce and
Theo Le — the latter scoring man-down — closed out the scoring to seal a 20-10 Westminster victory and a trip to the RMAC Championship game.
