SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team dropped a 76-69 decision to Regis University on Friday night in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game in the Behnken Field House.

Westminster (13-11, 9-11 RMAC) lost for the third straight game as they shot just 43.5 percent from the field. Regis (9-17, 7-13) used 30 points from Jarrett Brodbeck to complete the season sweep of the Griffins.

Regis took a 40-36 lead to halftime after a 17-3 run that help them to an 8-point cushion late in the half. The Griffins would score 10 straight points over a span of each half and they led 47-45 with 11:55 to play. The Rangers countered with a 19-7 run to open a 64-54 advantage with 5:37 remaining. The Griffins wouldn't get closer than the final margin of seven the rest of the night.

Zerrion Payton had another solid outing for the Griffins as he finished with 17 points. He also handed out eight assists to go with seven rebounds and one steal.

The Griffins would commit just one turnover in the opening half and they finished the game with 14 assists and nine turns. They outscored Regis 38-22 in the paint and scored 11 points from nine offensive rebounds.

Regis shot 49.1 percent in the game and they scored 17 points from turnovers. The Rangers made 10 of 27 from beyond the arc and had a 37-35 edge on the boards.

Quincy Bair and
Casey Evans would add 14 points apiece for the Griffins in defeat.
Brandon Warr added eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.

The 30 points from Brodbeck are the most allowed to an opponent by the Griffins this season. They came on 11 of 18 shooting and 6 of 9 from three.
