Live CoverageSALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's soccer team will return to action with a pair of games in South Carolina over Labor Day Weekend. The Griffins open the trip against SCAD Savannah at the SCAD Sports Complex in Hardeeville, S.C. on Friday at 5 p.m. MT. They will then play South Carolina Beaufort at Fin Land Field in Bluffton, S.C. on Monday at 9 a.m.
While there is no live coverage of the game against SCAD, there will be both live video and live stats available during Monday's game at USC Beaufort.
Griffin NotebookWestminster heads to the Palmetto State after picking up a 1-0 win over Weber State last Friday. The win was the Griffins first-ever victory over a NCAA D-I opponent.
The Griffins were outshot in the game, 14-9, and they scored on the only shot they put on goal in the contest. They also attempted seven of their nine shots after halftime.
Abby Holbrook scored the only goal in the game on a free kick. The goal was the first of her career and came on her only shot of the game. All nine Griffin shots came from nine different players.
Abi Yanke earned the shutout victory in goal with five saves. It was her ninth career victory and shutout.
About SCAD SavannahSCAD Savannah has started the 2014 season with a 2-1 record. They have wins over Middle Georgia State and Southeastern (Fla.). The Bees are averaging 3.0 goals per game and attempting 19.3 shots per outing. Olivia Buechler leads the team with three goals while Ryanne Frazier and Kelly McKay have each scored twice. Sara Hall has a .750 save percentage with a 1.37 goals-against-average.
About South Carolina BeaufortUSCB opened the season with a 4-1 win over Milligan (Tenn.) last Saturday. The Sand Sharks took 16 shots in the game with eight of them on goal. The limited Milligan to nine shots with three on target. Four different players scored in the game with MJ Orduna getting credit for the game-winner with her strike in the 38th-minute. Chelsie Mummert and Fred Gallman each made one save during their half in goal.
What's ReturningDespite losing nine players from the 2013 team that qualified for the NAIA National Championships, Westminster returns 19 players form that squad. Those 19 accounted for much of the team's offensive output last season, including 28 of the team's 41 goals (68.3 percent).

StreakingMiranda Olsen has never missed a game in her career and entered the season having appeared in 60 consecutive games dating back to the 2011 season. With her appearance at Weber State, Olsen now sits fourth all-time with 61 consecutive appearances.

More StreakingOlsen's streak also carries into a span of 43 consecutive starts heading into this week's action. After starting on-and-off during her freshman campaign, Miner has started every game over the past two seasons along with the final three games in 2011. Her 43-straight starts rank as the third-longest consecutive games started span in school history.

Approaching 75Head Coach
Tony LeBlanc goes into the weekend season just three wins shy of reaching the 75 win mark for his career. As the only head coach in the history of the program, LeBlanc has led the Griffins to an average of 10 wins per season and two trips to the NAIA National Championships.
Double Figure WinsWestminster has been consistent in the past four seasons where they have notched at least 11 wins and finished with a winning record in each of those seasons. The Griffins are 46-27-7 (.619) since the 2010 season and made two trips to the NAIA National Championships. During that span, a total of 26 teams across the NAIA have had double-digit victories in all four seasons.
Home CookingThe Griffins have been stellar at Dumke Field since the inception of the program in 2007. They have a 42-13-4 all-time record on the home turf after posting a 7-3 record at home last season. Westminster won a school-record nine-straight home games during the 2011 campaign and extended it to 16-straight unbeaten when carried into the 2012 season.
Offensive ThreatsWestminster welcomes back three of its top four goal scorers from last season in
Nicole Carter,
Lexi Tucker, and
Abigail Black. Those three combined to score 20 of the team's 41 goals in 2013. The Griffins also welcome the return of 2012 leading scorer,
Rylei North. She sat out last season after scoring 10 goals during the 2012 campaign.
Climbing the ChartsAbi Yanke opened 2014 with a performance that fans got used to seeing last season. The junior goalkeeper made five saves in the win at Weber State and notched her ninth-career shutout. She ranks third in school history in shutouts and also places fourth in career wins with nine.

Nothing Gets PastYanke is also moving in the career lead for goals-against-average. Her career GAA of 0.62 would establish the new career record once she hits 1,800 minutes played in goal. Yanke is coming off a 2013 season in which she set the school record for a season with a 0.61 GAA.
Looking AheadThe Griffins make their home debut next weekend as the play host to the Westminster Fall Classic. They face Eastern Oregon on Sept. 6 and then College of Idaho on Sept. 7.
