Colorado Snaps Griffins Winning Streak with 12-9 Win

Box Score BOULDER, Colo. – The 12th-ranked Westminster College men's lacrosse team opened a four-game road swing with a 12-9 loss at No. 2 Colorado on Friday night in a Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference game.

The loss snaps Westminster's three-game winning streak and drops them to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in the RMLC this season. Colorado moves to 10-2 and 2-0 with the win.

Colorado came out strong and took a 6-2 lead after the first quarter.  The Griffins would rally to level the game at 7-7 at halftime with three goals by Ethan Gosselin in the second quarter. Each team would score twice in the this stanza to set-up a final 15 minutes to decide the game.

It would by the home-standing Buffaloes that came out with the win. They took the 10-9 lead late in the quarter and then added two late goals when Westminster was trying to force a turnover and steal a possession.

Westminster will look to bounce-back on Sat. when they face No. 5 Colorado State in Fort Collins, Colo. The final RMLC game of the season for the Griffins will begin at 2 p.m. MST.
